Following graduation from Wake Forest University School of Law, and with a professional background in accounting and law, Todd first practiced as a tax lawyer with an international accounting firm in Charlotte, NC. In this position, he gained valuable experience in all types of tax planning and compliance services.
In 1995, he opened his own law office, focusing on business law and estate planning. His practice is now located in the SouthPark area of Charlotte, NC and includes a professional staff to help assure prompt, thorough, and cost-effective service.
Todd is certified by the North Carolina State Bar as a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law. He is one of 139 attorneys in North Carolina to achieve this distinction.
The North Carolina State Bar certifies lawyers as specialists in designated practice areas as a service to the public. The program assists members of the public in the selection of legal counsel by identifying lawyers who have demonstrated special knowledge, skill, and proficiency in certain areas of law. To be certified as a specialist in a practice area, a lawyer must have been in practice for at least 5 years, devote a significant part of his or her practice to the specialty area, attend continuing legal education seminars in the specialty, be favorably evaluated by other lawyers and judges, and pass a written examination in the specialty practice area.

“With three children who are 10 and under, much of my non-work time is spent with family, but my community activities include: providing pro bono estate planning services to those in need; occasional volunteering at our children’s elementary school; former Board member at Charlotte Mecklenburg Senior Centers and 2009 sponsor of their golf event; serving on Estate Planning Legislative Committee of North Carolina Bar Association (this is the bar committee that is responsible for working on laws related to estate planning and probate); and donating to various charities including Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, which raised $2000.”
