John J. Long, Jr.
About John

John has always had a strong work ethic and a goal of helping others. At Stewart Law, PA, he is able to do that in a supportive and collaborative environment — one that lets him focus on the actual legal craft and on the relationships behind it.

John grew up in Huntersville and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Business Administration degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. He went on to Campbell University School of Law in Raleigh, where he graduated magna cum laude. His law school coursework focused on Wills & Trusts, Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Estate and Gift Tax, and Income Tax.

His goal isn’t just to handle estate planning needs and corporate matters for clients — it’s to make sure each client has a clear understanding of what’s being achieved every step of the way. He believes the law is at its best when the client and the lawyer are working from the same picture.

John’s practice mix is 80% trusts and estates and 20% corporate law — a balance that lets him support business-owner clients across the full life cycle of their company and personal wealth.

A native of Huntersville, John is an avid UNC Tar Heels, Carolina Panthers, and Charlotte Hornets supporter. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, coaching local youth sports, and adventuring with his wife, Jessica, their three boys Luca, Rory, and Callan, and their three dogs.
